Howzit, I’m Chris. I built Salty Shots to film surfers and give the footage away free, and I host and run the whole thing myself. Now I want to bring on a few other shooters who’d rather shoot than build a website. Your page, your jar, your bookings, under this roof. Flat dues. The money’s yours.

Why I’m doing this

from one shooter to another

Filming surfers is the easy part. Getting the footage back to them is the part nobody warns you about. The DM that says “can I get that one?” three weeks later. The Drive folder you can’t find. The WeTransfer that expired. The tip jar that’s just your Venmo handle typed into a comment.

So I built the whole thing. A site where every session goes up day by day, every clip downloads free, full res, no watermark, and the surfer can throw a musubi in the jar if they’re stoked. Claims, bookings, the emails, the uploader, the archive. It works, and it took months.

You shouldn’t have to build it again. If you shoot Oʻahu and you’d rather give your footage away than sell it, I’ll host your page inside mine, run it, and keep it working. You shoot and upload. That’s the deal.

What’s already running
68session days
3,204free clips
285free photos
  • The Bank: every day, every clip, free on any phone
  • Claims: surfers mark their wave in a film, a cut arrives by email
  • Bookings with branded confirmations
  • Da Musubi Jar: Venmo, Cash App, Apple Pay, card
  • The uploader, the delivery emails, the archive

What you get

I host it. You shoot.
01Your own pagesaltyshotshawaii.com/photographers/you. Your sessions in the Bank format: day by day, spot by spot, every clip free to download, your name on every one of them.
02Your own jarDa Musubi Jar, but yours. Your Venmo, your Cash App, your Stripe. A surfer saves their wave, sees your name, sees your jar. Every cent lands with you.
03Your own bookingsPrivate sessions at your prices, on your calendar. The request lands in your inbox, the surfer gets a branded confirmation, and the money is between you and them.
04Your own deskOne login. Your bookings, your claims, your days, your numbers. Nothing of mine, nothing of anyone else’s. If a surfer wants a wave from your film, it shows up here.

And the part you don’t see: I host it, run it, and keep it working. Storage, the uploader, the emails, the fixes at 11pm. That’s what the dues are for.

How it works

three steps, no code
01You shoot, you cullGrade your keepers in whatever you already use. A, B, C. Export 1080p. That’s the whole job.
02You uploadDrop the day’s folder on your desk. No website to build, no hosting, no uploader to babysit. I built all that already.
03It’s on your pageIn the Bank format, under your name, within the hour. Downloads free on any phone. The jar and the booking button are yours.
The dealFlat dues. Zero cut.founding crew rates for the first few
One flat monthly number covers the roof. No percentage of your tips, no percentage of your bookings, ever. Your Venmo, your Cash App, your Stripe, your bank.No price tag on this page on purpose. I’m starting with a few founding spots and I’d rather talk numbers with you than at you. Put your name down and we’ll figure it out on a call or over a coffee.

Is this you?

the filter’s the feature
This is for you if
  • You’d rather be in the water than in a website builder.
  • You already give footage away. DMs, Drive links, WeTransfers that expire.
  • You’re happy for surfers to download it free and tip if they’re stoked.
  • You cull your own footage. You know which clips are the bangers.
  • You shoot Oʻahu breaks and you’d put your name on what you upload.
Probably not, if
  • You sell photos and want a storefront. Respect. This isn’t that.
  • You want watermarks or an email gate on downloads. Free means free here.
  • You want your own domain and your own look, right now.
  • You’re looking to dump a whole card and let the site sort it out.

None of that is a judgement. Selling your work is a great business. This is a different one: footage given away, tips and bookings kept, one roof. If that sounds like you, keep scrolling.
